Take your training to the next level

If you have a puppy who has learnt the basic foundation skills, the next step is to help them reach their full potential by enrolling in advanced classes.

Puppy plus is for puppies or young dogs who already know the basics and are ready to move on to more advanced skills. We will also continue to work on refining existing skills by adding more complex scenarios to their training. Adolescence is a challenging time for our furry friends as they undergo numerous physical and behavioural changes. However, investing in their training at this stage can have many benefits that will last a lifetime. From more reliable behaviours to better socialization skills.

Weeks 1 to 7:

Practice makes permanent, so we need to make sure our dogs are rehearsing the behaviours we want more of.

Adding distance, distraction and duration, (the 3 Ds) to the foundation skills learnt in the puppy foundation course, will help to enhance those skills to ensure that during the adolescent months our dogs are not rehearsing the unwanted behaviours.

What’s new

We will also introduce new skills such as, emergency stop, send outs, and teaching our dogs to go around objects - all of these are useful life skills that help build confidence and independence in your dog and can be used in many situations, particularly for working dogs.

In addition, puppy plus will include some alternative training such as a taster session to some nose work, beginner fun agility and some tricks. All of which are mentally and physically stimulation for dogs and help you to work together as a team, increasing your bond together.
